Courage and Willpower
“Courage and willpower can make miracles.” - Ernest Shackleton
Willpower is a funny thing. It is often talked about like a muscle, as something that you can train to get stronger, but also like a muscle it fatigues if it gets overworked.
What if we looked at willpower from another angle within the same metaphor. Our muscles are capable of much more than we can fathom. This is why a mother can muster superhuman strength to lift a boulder or car up to save her child.
That takes courage.
As Sir Ernest Shackleton points out, if we can have the courage to truly tap into the capacity of your willpower — miracles can happen.
